Gabriel had barely even wanted to go to school. He wanted to stay home and practice his telekinesis more. He hadn't mastered it yet, after all, and that was much more exciting than anything that was bound to happen at school. But he knew he had to go in order to not let his mother know anything was up. The last thing he wanted to do right now was make her suspicious. Not when they were going to be leaving soon anyways.
Which was why he was sitting in chemistry class now, listening to the instructions from his teacher over the experiment they were conducting. It wasn't really enjoyable, working with someone who hated his guts, but he didn't see any reason to go out of his way to switch partners. It would be a hassle. So he dealt with Jane and her death glares and just focused on his work.
But apparently, he was focusing a little too hard at one point, because the glass test tube Jane was holding over the flames shattered from his telekinesis and the liquid inside caused the flames to shoot up, lighting her hair on fire.
"Oh my god, what happened, my hair, my hair, someone get something for my hair," She screeched in a voice that could only be described as shrill. But before anyone could grab anything, the smoke reached the smoke detector, causing the fire alarm and sprinklers to go off, soaking everyone.
Jane wasn't hurt, luckily, but about half of her hair was burnt off now, and she'd probably have to cut the rest off to match. Gabriel was trying his best not to laugh as the teacher ushured them outside for regular fire procedures.

Date: 2009-11-25 04:45 am (UTC)Gabriel was so lost in the moment he didn't even hear Mrs. Springhorn, the English teacher, sneak up on them and clear her throat loudly.

Date: 2009-11-25 05:09 am (UTC)Her blue eyes flashed though, and then darkened as she looked on the clearly appalled and angry teacher. They were having a moment, and now it was ruined. If she didn't deserve to die for that, then Elle didn't know what else she could do to deserve it more.
"What do you think you're doing out here?" she exclaimed, flushed. "This is grossly inappropriate! Put your clothes back on right now!"

Date: 2009-11-25 06:25 am (UTC)She giggled quietly, nuzzled into his neck. There was a fierceness, a darkness in his eyes that distilled her instantaneous anger and made her a little giddy. If he wasn't going to be a good little boy, she saw no reason to pretend, either.
Mrs. Springhorn clearly expected more alarm however, and she bristled, gaping for just a split second. "Young man, you will do as I say!" she exclaimed shrilly.

Mrs. Springhorn fumed for another moment, rearranging her glasses. "WEll, fine, we'll see what your mother has to say about this," And without another word, she stormed back off toward the building.
That was enough to shake Gabriel out of the moment. He pulled away from Elle now, pulling up his pants in a hurry. The last thing he needed was his mom being reported to.

Date: 2009-11-25 06:45 am (UTC)All because of the 'm' word. Elle wanted to gag.
"No," she whined, and reached for his collar, trying to tug him towards her. "She's gone now; don't stop."
Maybe it was a self-fulfilling prophecy, asking him to continue, and knowing he'd probably brush her off in favor of his mother's fragile nerves. But maybe Elle wanted a reason to hate the annoying woman, whether they both liked game shows or not.

Date: 2009-11-25 06:52 am (UTC)This was the last sort of thing his mother needed to hear. His leaving was going to be a big enough shock on her. She didn't need added stress.

Date: 2009-11-25 07:27 am (UTC)All she had anymore? Her gaze was locked with the back of Gabriel's head. Virginia didn't have him. She had him. All of him. He was hers, and Elle shook with murderous lust, her eyes glazing over with blind rage.
She didn't even think, she just grabbed his wrist, pulling with all her strength to stop him, to spin him around towards her. She'd never felt more capable of placing her hand over his chest and burning his heart out.
Some of the students jostled her at the sudden stop, but she didn't care as they bumped and milled towards the entrance. She merely grabbed Gabriel's wet collar and pulled him down, her lips trembling as she whispered, "You're mine."

Date: 2009-11-25 07:39 am (UTC)He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer her as his expression softened, just a little bit. "I know that," He whispered softly. "But she doesn't. Not yet."
He just wanted to give his mother a few more days of comfort before he left, was that so much?

Date: 2009-11-25 07:56 am (UTC)She should know. She should know now. Elle couldn't think of any other way to show her besides killing her, nice and slowly. How sick she would feel knowing Virginia still loved Gabriel, and Gabriel still loved her. No matter what he said, she knew he did. Just like she loved her Daddy. Anything else was a big fat lie.
"Why are you protecting her?" she said, her voice deadly calm. "You're mine. She should know."

Date: 2009-11-25 08:23 am (UTC)He knew he loved Elle more, he did, but that didn't stop the fact that he did still love his mother. And for a long time, she had been all he had, it was only right that he wanted to protect her, right?

Date: 2009-11-25 08:29 am (UTC)She was seeing everything so clearly now. She hadn't needed her father. He didn't need his mother, either.

Date: 2009-11-25 09:03 am (UTC)"I'm sorry," she said hollowly, although her fingers still dug into his neck. Her small body trembled, and she forced her eyes to his chest. She could hardly breathe she was so worked up, and she wasn't even sure what she was apologizing for. For freaking him out? For what she wanted to do--even though she hadn't said the words?
She wasn't so heartless to know the pain she was so willing to inflict on him. She'd inflicted it on herself, but it seemed like such a small price to pay. An eye for an eye. They'd be even.

Date: 2009-11-25 09:24 am (UTC)It didn't feel okay, even though she sighed and nodded at his words, resting against him. Her mind wrestled in the silence, and her heart ached. She knew despite her indecision over hurting him, something had to be done.
She tilted her head up, blinking slowly, her lips parted with slowing breath to gaze up at him. "I love you," she whispered, and she'd never meant it more than in that moment.

But he forgot it as she whispered softly, soothing him just a little. "I love you too." And he did. No matter what, he did.
